PHOTO ALBUM:
Crash and Burn
Our first “Firewall Bulkhead” shape.
One of 4 before we got it right.
First Firewall Bulkhead to Chassis support tube, real ugly!! Second Firewall Bulkhead, one of four. Our first Engine mount try - we had the mount up-side down. It’s also really ugly. But the Chassis Side Rail Support tube looks good. A number of items will use this 1-14” dia. tube as an anchor so it must be strong. It took only 2 attempts to get it right.
The Firewall Bulkhead support tube does not look good from the other side, even without an ugly Harley Davidson engine (isolator) mount. Whose large foot is drawn on the Firewall, could that be “The Scholar” Jim, (6’ 3” in stocking feet)?? This photo shows our second attempt at making a support for the Floor Board, Firewall, and Dog-house transmission cover (the hoop over the Clutch/Oil Tank Housing. The first one was too weak. All the members of “The Club of Finger Pointing Designers” nodded in approval and it was signed off. Glen “The Fab Guy” begins to measure out the spaces for the Brake and Clutch Petal rods to the fluid reservoirs which are behind the driver’s seat. This installation is still under discussion and will be settled only when we finish the interior design. More “Crash & Burn” time to be spent.
So, you don’t like my idea”??.
“You try while I watch”.
Nice look at the Chassis support bar and a last look at the ugly engine mount. You can kiss that mount design goodbye!!
For our English fans we thought we should use the proper name for proper parts. It was really to protect the engine from welding sparks.
10-12-08, “Huey” the shop pooch in person. “Who is in control I ask?”
10-14-08, Glen takes “Huey” the shop dog a ride as the first passenger.
11-10-08, “Ring toss anyone?” These mystery parts are part of the Swing Arm assembly.
11-08-08, While working on the exhaust pipe mounting we decided to make a “Snorkel” model and sell TigerCat 3V2’s to scuba divers.
11-10-08, Even “Hot Rod” builders have a problem with all the brackets and parts that need to installed to make a good looking front end. Nice chrome “I” beam axle, but expensive.
